There’s no denying it, video marketing sells. Video content is currently the format with the biggest traction on social media, and it’s only going to get better. If we look at the projections, video traffic will account for a staggering 80% of the global consumer traffic by 2019.
However, video marketing is only effective if you create an effective video marketing campaign. Whatever you end up doing, you’ll need to be consistent with your brand and the message that it sends. If you do it right, video marketing will help you boost the sales of your small business.
You could, of course, contract the services of a professional from Upwork or Fiverr to produce the videos for you. But if you’re a hands-on kind of guy (or your small business doesn’t afford it), you can do it all by yourself. But you’ll need the right tools for the job.
We took it upon ourselves to create a curated list of video marketing tools that are best suited for small businesses. The tools are in no particular order, so feel free to test and use only those tools that are the most approachable.
Wideo is not the easiest tool out of the bunch, but it’s quite rewarding if you spend some time with it. With a little consistency and a bit of inspiration, you’ll be able to create instructive animated videos targeted towards social media.
Wideo really shines when you need to create product presentations, usability tutorials, and advertisements that perform best on social media. You’ll be able to add your business logo, background music and additional images that will tell a better story.
If you’re not that tech-savvy, Wideo is a great starting tool considering the plethora of pre-made templates that will speed up the whole process considerably. Keep in mind the Wideo is free, but this is only true if you keep your videos under 45 seconds. If you need longer videos, expect to pay a monthly fee of over $10.
Slidely is all about creating video slideshows using your own photos, music and video clips. This tool focuses on simplicity, allowing you to create an easy and visually appealing product and company presentation slideshow.
Once you manage to create the slideshow, you can easily export it to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and any other platform that you currently use for your video marketing campaign.
The basic version of Slidely is free, and also includes an iOS and Android version for those of you focused on mobility.
WeVideo is one of the most popular cloud-based video creation platform currently available. This tool is so popular for a reason; it gives you full creative control over what your video looks like.
The possibilities are endless with WeVideo. You can add anything from a calls-to-action to infographics and your business logo. Most features are targeted towards serving small business owners that don’t have the financial capacity to work with graphic designers.
WeVideo includes a free plan but depending on your needs, that might not be enough. Paid subscription range from $7 to $20 monthly fees. WeVideo also includes mobile versions for Android and iOS, but don’t expend to find the same features.
If you’re a hands-on kind of guy, you’ll come to love Wistia. It gives you full control over the videos that you publish. It’s a great tool to get to know your audience and understand how and why a video performed the way it performed.
I should probably mention the heatmaps analytic feature which allows you to see exactly what the viewers watched, stopped, skipped and re-watched. Wista is capable of hosting your videos – with adaptive streaming and 4k and 360º support.
You can start using Wistia with a free account, but you’ll eventually have to pay a monthly fee if you exceed the video cap. Also, keep in mind that advanced analytic features, lead generation tools, and marketing integration tools will only become available if you pay a monthly subscription.
If you’re looking for maximum intuitiveness, Powtoon is the tool for you. The interface almost guides you through each of the video creation steps. There are some graphic elements that are unique to Powtoon, but everything else is pretty much standard.
Powtoon has a free version, but it comes with a watermark that stands out quite a bit. If you want to get rid of it, expect to pay around $20 per month.
The easiest tool out of the bunch is Viewbix – a marketing tool that will allow you to create interactive videos in under 5 minutes. Essentially, the tool will add a clickable video to a pre-made video, branding it with your logo and a call-to-action button. Once this is accomplished, you will have to choose from a selection of apps that will help you track lead generation.
While this service is solid, it’s very basic in its free form. But Viewbix really shines if you opt for the premium service in which you let the Viewbix team manage your video marketing campaign.
